Caldyrix is former name of Ironhelm before it became a town.

Caldyrix is a combination of two classical Dwarfen words: Caldyr, meaning Stony River, and Ix, meaning Trading Route.

The river Caldyr ran through the valley that housed the historic village, and still runs under the platfrom of Ironhelm today. It’s source was originally located much further north than the current Northern White’s boundary, but now much of it’s water is sourced from the Northern White’s melting ice sheets.

Many Caldyrix’s ruins are still standing under Ironhelm’s platform and are preserved by the Archaeologist’s Guild. However, it is an offence to trespass below the platform without written permission from the royal family, noble houses or from guild authority.
